Minoh or Tsurumi Suisyun? Which Osaka Day Onsen Fits Your Plans?
Minoh is slightly cheaper and opens early Saturdays; Tsurumi is closer to its subway station and has a source-fed outdoor rock bath. Both use different springs.

Pick Minoh for a Saturday morning or a lower add-on bill
Minoh opens at 6 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, while Tsurumi’s early opening is listed for Sundays and holidays. If your only free morning is Saturday, Minoh is the one that fits. Its adult entry and rock-sauna supplement are also ¥100 and ¥200 lower, respectively, than Tsurumi’s regular rates.
The spring, Minoh Bijin no Yu, rises from about 1,200 metres below ground at 26.5°C. It is classified as a sodium bicarbonate–chloride spring, with 5,806 mg/kg of dissolved solids listed. The facility says it heats the water to bathing temperature and may add water depending on conditions. The source temperature is not the same as the temperature in every tub.
Tsurumi’s Tsuruju no Yu is a different spring, from about 1,300 metres below ground. Its listed source temperature is 47°C, with 38,000 mg/kg dissolved solids and a flow of 430 litres per minute. Those figures describe chemistry and volume; they are not a score for which bath feels better.
The men’s Milky Bath was temporarily replaced by a magnesium bath during repairs, but the operator announced it had been restored on September 29, 2026. The women’s bath remained in service throughout. Check for any newer maintenance notice rather than treating the repair period as a permanent facility change.
Tsurumi has the clearer source-water bath
Tsurumi is the easier station-side stop: the bathhouse is about two minutes from Tsurumi-ryokuchi Station. Its spring, Tsuruju no Yu, is listed as a 47°C sodium chloride spring from around 1,300 metres underground, with dissolved minerals of about 38,000 mg/kg. The operator identifies the upper outdoor rock bath as the source-water free-flowing tub. That does not mean every bath is supplied the same way.
The 2026 refurbishment added a men’s meditation sauna and updated the women’s herbal salt sauna with collagen lighting. Sauna line-up differs by side: the current facility page lists three types for the men’s bath and two for the women’s. If those details matter, check which side is open for your visit and any current maintenance notice.
Keep temporary dates out of the regular price comparison
The September 20–23, 2026 Silver Week surcharge has passed. Special-date prices may differ from the regular rates below.
| Adult admission / rock-sauna add-on | Minoh weekdays | Minoh weekends / holidays | Tsurumi weekdays | Tsurumi weekends / holidays |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Admission | ¥1,000 | ¥1,100 | ¥1,100 | ¥1,200 |
| Rock sauna | ¥800 | ¥900 | ¥1,000 | ¥1,100 |
Both branches sell or rent towels separately. If you plan to use the rock sauna, allow more than a quick one-hour stop: admission and the add-on are separate purchases, and both places have enough facilities to make a longer visit the point.
What the spring-flow claim actually covers
Tsurumi explicitly identifies the upper outdoor rock bath as a free-flowing source-water bath. That does not mean every one of its roughly 13 pools is supplied in the same way: the facility also has carbonated, milky and other feature baths. Minoh identifies its source and describes heating and possible dilution, but the material used here does not name a particular pool as free-flowing. This is a difference in published evidence, not a claim that one is “real” and the other is not.
Sauna, ganbanyoku and family rules
Minoh lists a high-temperature Löyly sauna, a herbal salt steam room and a meditation sauna in both the men’s and women’s baths. Tsurumi’s post-renovation configuration differs by side: three sauna types are listed for men and two for women, including a herbal salt room with collagen lighting. Check the current facility page if a specific room is the reason for visiting.
Ganbanyoku is a separate ticket at both branches. Tsurumi’s 2026 refurbishment added a rock-bath lounge, about 15,000 books and magazines, more private rest spaces and a concert-style heat-event room.
| Ganbanyoku | Weekday | Weekend / holiday |
|---|---|---|
| Minoh (six rooms and reading/rest lounge) | ¥800 | ¥900 |
| Tsurumi | ¥1,000 | ¥1,100 |
Neither bathhouse is a safe choice if you need tattoo access: both list tattoos, including tattoo stickers, among reasons for refusing entry. At Minoh, a child bathing with an opposite-sex parent must be both under seven and under 120 cm tall; children below middle-school age cannot use the baths or ganbanyoku alone. If a child is close to either threshold, confirm the rule with the facility before travelling.
Choose by the rest of your route
Tsurumi-ryokuchi Station is about two minutes from its bathhouse, and a Keihan bus stop is about a minute away. Minoh-Semba-Handai-mae is around five minutes on foot, with free shuttles from Senri-Chuo and Kita-Senri. Since the 2024 extension of the Kita-Osaka Kyuko line, Minoh is also a direct option from the Midosuji corridor. Tsurumi works naturally after Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park; Minoh fits the north side, Senri and Katsuo-ji. A short station walk is only one part of the day’s travel time.
A quick decision
Choose Minoh if you are coming from the north, want a Saturday 6 a.m. opening or are comparing the lower standard add-on price. Choose Tsurumi if you are already near Tsurumi-ryokuchi Park, want the shorter station walk or specifically want to use its documented source-water rock bath. For either one, check the current operating notice before leaving; the Milky Bath status at Minoh is a good example of why a dated facility update can matter more than an old review.
For other Osaka options, the day-onsen guide compares facilities closer to the city centre.
