Minoh Yumoto Suisyun: natural spring baths, saunas and early-morning hours

At Minoh Yumoto Suisyun, check admission, towel costs and spring details alongside sauna options, opening hours and its temporary men’s-bath change.

Minoh Yumoto Suisyun is a large day-use bath complex about five minutes on foot from Minoh-Semba-Handai-mae Station. It pairs a natural-spring outdoor bath with carbonated and massage baths, three sauna types and a separate ganbanyoku area. The hours are unusually generous: 9 a.m.–2 a.m. on weekdays, and 6 a.m.–2 a.m. on weekends and public holidays.

What a visit costs

TicketWeekdaysWeekends and public holidays
Adult admission (age 13+)¥1,000¥1,100
Child admission (age 5 through elementary school)¥500¥550
Child admission (ages 3–4)¥200¥200
Child admission (under 3)FreeFree
Ganbanyoku add-on (adults)+¥800+¥900
Ganbanyoku add-on (elementary-school age)+¥400+¥450

Body wash and shampoo are supplied. Towels are not included; a rental set costs ¥330. The ganbanyoku ticket requires separate bath admission. It covers six heated-room spaces, reading material and a rest lounge, so it makes more sense when you have a few hours than on a quick evening stop. Sign-up closes at 12:30 a.m., and the area closes at 1:30 a.m.

Minoh accepts cash, credit cards, QR payments and electronic money. Children below middle-school age cannot use the baths or ganbanyoku on their own.

The natural spring and what happens to it

The facility identifies its source as Minoh Bijin no Yu, drawn from about 1,200 metres underground. The source temperature is 26.5°C, and the water is classified as a sodium-bicarbonate/chloride spring. The operator says it heats the spring water for bathing and may add water when needed. That is a natural spring, but not a claim that every pool is used untreated.

The main bath area has 16 bathing options, including an outdoor spring bath, carbonated bath and massage pools. Keep those separate in your expectations: the spring identity does not apply automatically to every feature pool.

The current men’s Milky Bath returned to service on September 29, 2026, after a temporary equipment issue; the women’s bath had stayed open. That notice supersedes the earlier report that men’s side was using a magnesium bath. The venue’s service page is the place to check for later repairs or closures.

Three different sauna rooms

The current facility pages list a high-temperature sauna with löyly events, a herbal salt steam sauna and a meditation sauna where visitors can pour water over the stones themselves. Event timing may change, so use the day’s schedule if a particular session matters to you. This gives sauna visitors more variety than a single hot room, while the bath remains the main reason to come.

Ganbanyoku adds six heated-room areas and a lounge. It is a better fit for an afternoon with several hours to spare than for a short stop between sightseeing and dinner. Children under middle-school age cannot use the bath or ganbanyoku on their own. Mixed-gender bathing with a parent is limited to children under seven who are also shorter than 120 centimetres.

Getting there and planning around the clock

The railway extension opened a direct route to Minoh-Semba-Handai-mae, around five minutes from the complex. Free shuttles also run from Senri-Chuo and Kita-Senri, but check the current timetable and pickup point rather than relying on a remembered interval.

Drivers have access to about 400 spaces in the building’s parking area. Bring the parking ticket for validation; the operator’s current parking information distinguishes a free day-use period from longer stays, so do not assume the car park is free for an unlimited visit.

On weekends and public holidays, the doors open at 6 a.m.; weekdays begin at 9 a.m. Last admission is 1 a.m., the bath area closes at 1:45 a.m., and the changing area closes at 2 a.m. The facility has no regular weekly closure listed on its fee page, but maintenance days and special changes are announced separately.

The tattoo policy is strict: tattoos, tattoo stickers and body paint are all listed as grounds for refusing entry. There is no cover-sticker exception on the facility FAQ. Children younger than middle-school age cannot use the bath or ganbanyoku alone. For mixed-gender bathing with a parent, the child must be both under seven and under 120 cm tall. Temporary change to the men’s milky bath

The temporary replacement of the men’s Milky Bath ended on September 29, 2026, when the operator posted that it had been restored. The women’s bath was unaffected. Check the operator’s news page before travelling in case of another change.
