Yumorinosato in Jindaiji: Black Spring, Time-Limited Tickets and the Chofu Shuttle
Plan a visit to Chofu’s Yumorinosato: compare its 60-minute and weekday free-time tickets, dark spring water and free shuttle from Chofu Station.
Yumorinosato is a better match for a slow soak than a quick detour. The full-time weekday ticket is ¥1,080; its 60-minute plan costs ¥900, only ¥180 less. If you are not sure how fast you can move through the baths, locker room and shower, the small saving may not be worth watching the clock.

The night ticket covers one hour. Shampoo, body wash, face soap, toner and hairdryers are provided. Children must be out of diapers to bathe; elementary-school children use the bath matching their gender.
The black water is the point
Yumorinosato’s dark spring is a weakly alkaline sodium-chloride and bicarbonate water drawn from roughly 1,500 metres below ground. Dissolved organic material gives it its colour. The facility publishes a flow rate of 161 litres a minute, says it does not dilute the spring with added water, and drains and refills the baths each night. It does not publish enough current analysis to confirm source temperature, pH or the treatment setup of each individual bath, so those details should not be inferred.
There are several indoor and outdoor baths, including a small personal tub, a waterfall-view bath and a projection-mapped pool. Sauna bathing and a crystal cold bath are separate from the natural hot-spring pools. Bedrock bathing is an optional ¥800 and includes its clothing and towel; it is available from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. There is also a women-only mugwort steam treatment, but it is not included in admission.
Getting there: use Chofu, not Musashisakai
The facility operates a free shuttle from the north side of Chofu Station, taking about seven to eight minutes. Its former Musashisakai shuttle ended on March 31, 2026. You can also take a bus from Chofu, Kichijoji or Mitaka and walk the last six minutes from the Jindaiji stop. There is a 50-space car park about a three-minute walk from the entrance.
Yumorinosato opens 10 a.m.–10 p.m. and is normally open year-round, with occasional maintenance closures. Its tattoo policy conflicts across the official site: one Q&A allows tattoos when fully covered, while the price page and general rules refuse tattooed guests. Call ahead with the size and location of your tattoo.
A September 19–23, 2026 notice advertised special Silver Week pricing but did not state the amount; check dated notices for other holiday periods. If you also plan to visit Jindaiji Temple, the shuttle and bus routes make the bath a natural final stop, though a 60-minute ticket leaves little time for both the temple and a relaxed soak.
