Hisamatsuyu in Sakuradai: Natural Hot Spring at Public-Bath Prices
Hisamatsuyu is a five-minute walk from Sakuradai Station, with a natural-spring outdoor bath and sauna. Adult entry is ¥600; sauna costs another ¥550.
Hisamatsuyu is a good choice when you want a natural hot-spring bath without paying for a resort-style day spa. The source water is supplied to the men’s and women’s outdoor baths; the sauna and carbonated bath are separate parts of the visit. Plan for a focused one- or two-hour stop, not an afternoon of lounging.
The spring is natural; the flow method is a separate question
Hisamatsuyu names its source Sakuradai Onsen Hisamatsu and describes it as a high-salinity iodine–sodium chloride spring. The natural water is supplied to the outdoor baths; that does not mean every pool is source-fed or flow-through. The facility does not publish a pool-by-pool treatment breakdown.
The saline water can feel strong. Start with a short soak, take a break and drink water before deciding whether to return. The spring’s legal classification does not tell you a fixed bathing-pool temperature, and the current public pages do not offer a full set of source temperature, pH and flow-rate figures for comparison.
Admission is affordable; towels and sauna are extra
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult admission | ¥600 |
| Elementary-school child | ¥200 |
| Younger child | ¥100 |
| Sauna add-on | ¥550 |
| Adult bath and sauna | ¥1,150 |
| Shampoo, conditioner or body wash | ¥40 each |
| Bath-towel rental | ¥150 |
| Face towel | ¥100 |
Hisamatsuyu has no complimentary toiletries. Bring your own if you want to keep the visit close to the base admission price.
Women can also book a five-minute carbonated shower for ¥300. The facility lists no indoor clothing, so there is no reason to budget for a long stay in the style of a large spa. Tattoos are not clearly covered in the official information; ask the bathhouse directly if you need a definite policy.
A convenient rail stop, with a fixed closing time
Hisamatsuyu is open 11 a.m.–11 p.m., with last admission at 10:30 p.m. It closes every Tuesday. Sakuradai Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line is about a five-minute walk away. There is no on-site parking; nearby coin-operated lots are not affiliated with the bathhouse.
An arrival at 10:30 p.m. is only the final admission time, not enough for a relaxed sauna circuit. If you want the outdoor spring bath, carbonated bath and several sauna rounds, come earlier. Check the latest news before a planned visit because repairs or operating changes can add an occasional closure.
Hisamatsuyu suits a short, bath-focused visit. If you want a garden, dining, indoor wear and hours of rest space, compare a larger facility instead.
