Fujimiyu in Ebara-Nakanobu: A Deep Soft-Water Plunge and Men-Only Sauna
Fujimiyu near Ebara-Nakanobu charges ¥600 for the bath or ¥1,550 with sauna on the men’s side. Its 1.2-metre soft-water plunge is not an onsen.
The all-soft-water sento has a 1.2-metre plunge, but women do not have a permanent sauna.
Fujimiyu is a neighbourhood sento with a very specific sauna draw: a deep, soft-water plunge and an all-cypress room on the men’s side. The ¥1,550 package includes admission and sauna access with a bath towel. It is a more substantial spend than the ¥600 bath-only ticket, and the sauna is not available to women on regular days.
The sauna circuit is built around depth
The men’s sauna is made entirely of Japanese cypress and has automatic water pours at :15, :35 and :55 each hour. Its cold bath is 1.2 metres deep and uses super-softened Tokyo tap water, not natural spring water. A semi-outdoor air-bathing area and reclining rest spots complete the circuit. Take care entering the deep pool, particularly after a hot sauna.
The public bath itself uses super-soft water throughout, with a bubble bath and a bath containing hokutolite stone. Fujimiyu is not a natural hot spring, and the soft-water system should not be confused with an onsen spring source.
Prices and who can use the sauna
| Entry | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult bath | ¥600 |
| Elementary-school child | ¥200 |
| Preschool child | ¥100 |
| Adult bath plus men’s sauna | ¥1,550 |
| Face towel / bath towel rental | ¥50 / ¥100 |
Shampoo and body wash are provided. The sauna is men-only on regular days, though the facility holds occasional women’s events; check the date-specific notices rather than assuming a regular ladies’ sauna. Fujimiyu does not admit guests with tattoos and has no on-site parking.
Hours and station access
Fujimiyu opens 3–11:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon–11:30 p.m. on Sundays; last entry is 11:15 p.m. Wednesday is the regular closing day. It is at 1-3-8 Higashi-Nakanobu, Shinagawa City: about a four-minute walk from Ebara-Nakanobu Station, or seven minutes from Togoshi, Togoshi-koen or Togoshi-Ginza. There is no on-site parking.
For a quieter bath-only stop, bring a towel and pay the base sento fare. The higher sauna ticket makes sense if you specifically want the cypress room, the deep plunge and a place to cool down outside.
