A Day Trip to Hanamaki’s Hot Springs: Pick One Route and One Main Bath
Choose one valley and one main bath for a Hanamaki day trip. Southern baths use the Yukuchi Line; Hanamaki Onsen and Dai Onsen are on the northern route.
Hanamaki Onsenkyo is too spread out for a relaxed day if you treat every bath as the next stop on one street. Choose either the southern Yukuchi Line or the northern Hanamaki Onsen Line, check the return bus, then build lunch and a second stop around the timetable.
For several baths on one ticket: Osawa Onsen
Osawa’s Tojiya accepts day visitors. Its adult ticket covers four baths across Tojiya and Sansuikaku, although cleaning can make individual baths unavailable at certain times. Osawa-no-yu is mixed gender. Check the current bath schedule before setting out.

For the deep standing bath: Fuji Ryokan at Namari
Shirozaru-no-yu is a deep standing bath and is normally mixed. Women have a daytime-only window, while cleaning and rotating bath schedules affect access. This is a focused stop, not a quick hop between several locations; check the day’s opening and bus home before setting out.

For lunch and a sauna: Nagomi-no-Yu
Nagomi-no-Yu is a dedicated day-bathing facility on Yuukaen’s grounds. It has indoor and outdoor baths, a sauna and restaurant. A bath-and-lunch set is listed separately from admission.

For a family-oriented hotel bath: Shidotaira
Hotel Shidotaira has two day-use sessions, with no admission during the afternoon gap. The hotel lists family bathing equipment, but its swimming pools are for overnight guests and are not included with a day-use bath ticket.

If you prefer the northern route

A workable outline
For the southern route, take the Yukuchi Line to one chosen bath, leave at least 90 minutes for bathing and changing, then have lunch nearby or at the facility if its restaurant is open. Return to the stop with enough time for the next bus; the inns are not close enough to treat a missed bus as a short walk. If you reach Hanamaki Station in the afternoon, skip the second bath rather than risk the final connection.
For a quick per-person baseline, combine the bus fare with one adult admission. This excludes towels, meals and any add-on facility.

Iwate Kenkotsu currently lists one-way adult fares from Hanamaki Station of ¥600 to Shidotaira, ¥670 to Osawa, ¥720 to Yama no Kami and ¥780 to Namari. The northern fares are ¥510 to Hanamaki Onsen and ¥580 to Dai Onsen. Check the correct route and timetable on your travel date. The lodging shuttle is reserved for guests of participating inns; day visitors should not count on it.
