HAT Nagisa no Yu (Awa Awa Kobe): What to Know Before Visiting
Visit awa awa KOBE, formerly HAT Nagisa no Yu, with current bath prices, private-sauna rates, tattoo cover rules and Kobe transit details.
The old name still appears in searches, but the facility reopened as awa awa KOBE after a major renovation. It is in HAT Kobe, a short walk from several train stations, and works as either a regular bath stop or a longer sauna visit. The main distinction to keep in mind is that the private sauna has its own price and booking rules.
The outdoor bath uses spring water, but at a different temperature
| Spring detail | Operator information |
|---|---|
| Classification | Sodium bicarbonate and chloride spring |
| Source depth / temperature | 752 metres / 35.2°C |
| Outdoor rock bath | Heated to 42°C |
The source temperature is not the pool temperature. The public area has several bath and sauna spaces; the private sauna is booked separately.
| Visit detail | Current information |
|---|---|
| Admission | ¥1,000 adults weekdays; ¥1,200 weekends and public holidays; ¥600 elementary-school pupils; preschoolers free |
| Hours | 10 a.m.–midnight; last entry 11 p.m. |
| Towels | Rental set ¥330; face towel ¥600 |
Maintenance can cause an unscheduled closure.
Private sauna pricing is by group, not simply per person
The co-ed private sauna requires swimwear, runs for 90 minutes and accepts up to six people. It has a self-pour sauna, a deep bath, an outdoor bath and a space to cool down. Guests can also use the second-floor public bath before or after their session.
| Private-sauna charge | Weekday | Weekend or public holiday |
|---|---|---|
| First user | ¥8,500 | ¥9,500 |
| Each additional adult | +¥3,200 | +¥3,700 |
| 30-minute extension | ¥2,000 | ¥3,000 |
| Swimsuit rental | ¥500 | ¥500 |
Elementary-school children may be added for a separate fee; children below elementary-school age cannot use the sauna. The operator asks guests to reserve at least two hours ahead so staff can prepare the room. Online bookings close at 11 p.m. the day before. For a same-day session, call and check availability rather than assuming a walk-in will be accepted.
Check the entry rules and current closure notice
The facility refuses tattoos and realistic tattoo designs unless they are fully covered by its approved 13 × 19 cm cover sticker. Its website does not say how many stickers may be used, so ask if you need more than one. Children must be with a guardian, and children of elementary-school age or older cannot bathe with an adult of another sex.
The current notice lists a full closure on October 20 and 21, 2026, for maintenance and staff training. Check the operator’s news page for any later changes before travelling.
Getting there from central Kobe
Kasuganomichi is the closest rail area: allow about 10 minutes on foot from Hanshin Kasuganomichi Station, 15 minutes from Hankyu Kasuganomichi Station or 20 minutes from JR Nada Station. From the JR Sannomiya bus terminal, Kobe City Bus 101 takes about 20 minutes to Nisseki Byoin-mae, outside the facility. The 101 uses different stops depending on direction, so check the route and timetable for your return as well as your outbound trip.
The operator lists 250 parking spaces, but its current access information does not clearly state a parking fee. If you want to compare it with another Kobe spa, see the awa awa KOBE and Ren day-use comparison.
