Aoshima Jizoan Private Onsen: Booking, Prices and the 60-Minute Visit
Reserve Jizoan’s private 60-minute Aoshima hot-spring bath for two adults, with towels included; it is not a low-cost public bath or sauna.
Checked: September 27, 2026
Jizoan is best understood as a private-bath booking, not a conventional drop-in onsen. One group gets the room for an hour, so couples can bathe together and parents do not have to split up to accompany children. The trade-off is a higher starting price and little time for lingering once you count changing and washing.
What the booking includes
The current day-use plan starts at ¥3,500 for two adults and one 60-minute session. Towels are included for the adults. Each additional adult is ¥1,000; children have separate rates: ¥300 for ages 0–3 without a towel, ¥500 for preschoolers with a face towel, and ¥800 for elementary-school pupils with bath and face towels. Confirm the final amount when reserving if your group includes children or more than two adults.
Bookings are accepted online or by phone, starting two days ahead. The bath opens for day use from 9 am, but availability is limited and a same-day visit is not guaranteed. Staff call about ten minutes before the session ends. There is no lounge room, so plan to arrive ready to use the full hour rather than treating it as a half-day stop.
Getting there without a car
Jizoan is at 1-6-4 Aoshima, about an eight-minute walk from Kodomo-no-Kuni Station on the JR Nichinan Line. The inn also has eight free parking spaces that do not require a reservation. That makes it easier to fit into an Aoshima day than a bath that depends on a hotel shuttle or taxi.
Even with the station nearby, leave enough time after bathing to walk back and catch the train. A private session has a fixed start and finish, and the station walk comes after changing and checking out. If you are continuing to the airport, work backward from your flight rather than assuming the short distance on the map makes a tight connection safe.
How the Aoshima bathing pass applies
The fourth Aoshima Onsen Six-Bath Pass campaign runs from September 7, 2026, through January 31, 2027, with year-end exclusions and each facility’s own closing days. At Jizoan, a pass does not pay for a private bath outright. Each pass holder receives a ¥550 discount and tea with a snack, while the reservation and remaining private-bath fee still apply. Ask Jizoan for the total at booking; the pass rules also note bathing-tax handling for parties of two or fewer.
If you mainly want to compare public bathing, start with the Shinwa-no-Yu guide. For the campaign’s six participating facilities and pass arithmetic, see the Aoshima Six-Bath Pass guide.
A note on the spring figures
Jizoan describes its water as a natural alkaline spring. Three pH figures—9.1, 9.2 and 9.8—appear across its pages, so they are not a sound basis for ranking it against another bath.
The inn says bathwater is changed daily. That detail does not, by itself, establish every part of the water-treatment system, such as circulation, heating or disinfection. If those operating details matter to your choice, ask the inn directly rather than reading more into the phrase.
Jizoan’s private format is the main reason to book: two adults can use the bath together, with towels and a station walk rather than a car requirement. Anyone who wants multiple pools, sauna rounds or an open-ended rest area will have a better day at a public facility.
