Okudaira Onsen Yushinkan is a day-use bath near Takumi-no-Sato in Minakami, Gunma. Its appeal is practical: the three-hour adult ticket is ¥700, the bathing area has several types of bath and a low-temperature sauna, and there is space to eat or rest afterwards. The unusual detail is a roughly 30°C bath fed directly from the source, with no heating or circulation. Think of it as a gentle cool soak after the sauna, not a conventional cold plunge.

Current admission, opening hours and towel costs
The July 2026 rate table separates tickets by age and stay length. Each extension costs ¥220 for an adult or ¥170 for a child. An evening discount is also listed, but its entry window is unclear; confirm that rate with the facility before relying on it.

Bathing is listed from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday is the regular closing day, although the facility says it opens on public holidays, during Golden Week, Obon and the New Year period. Check its current calendar and visitor information before setting out, especially around holiday weeks.

Bring your own towels to avoid the rental charge; the towel set adds ¥360. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toner and moisturiser are provided. The locker takes a refundable ¥100 coin. The standard hair dryer costs ¥100, while the Dyson dryer has a separate fee.
The 30°C source bath is not the temperature of the whole facility
Yushinkan classifies its spring as an alkaline simple hot spring. Its general description says the facility uses 100% source water with circulation and heating, with some water flowing directly through. That distinction matters: the main indoor bath and the other heated pools should not all be described as free-flowing baths.
One pool is explicitly identified as a source-flow bath. The operator says it is neither heated nor circulated and stays around 30°C. That is mild compared with a typical sauna cold plunge. If you prefer a gradual cool-down, it gives you another option after the heated bath or sauna; you can also skip it altogether.
The bathing areas include an indoor public bath, garden-side outdoor baths, a jet bath and a seasonal herbal bath. The men’s and women’s garden arrangements switch on the first and fifteenth of each month. Seasonal baths may feature ingredients such as yuzu, apples, cherry blossoms or iris; those are additions to the bathing experience, not separate spring classifications.
A gentler sauna circuit
The low-temperature sauna is listed at about 65–70°C, below the heat of a typical high-temperature dry sauna. The operator suggests staying for 10–15 minutes, then showering, cooling down and resting with water nearby. Follow your own comfort level; there is no need to stay for a set time if you feel unwell.
The roughly 30°C source bath can work as a milder alternative to a very cold plunge. That combination may suit visitors who want a slower contrast between heat and cool water. Anyone looking specifically for high heat, löyly events or an icy plunge should choose a facility built around those features instead.
Space to rest, private rooms and bringing young children
The large communal room covers about 120 tatami mats and can be used for a meal or a break between baths. Private rooms are available, but the operator currently shows different prices on its visitor-information and facilities pages. Confirm the rate and reservation details directly before relying on a particular price.
For families with a child who has not yet stopped using nappies, the operator says baby baths are available. It also permits use of the regular bath if a parent supervises closely and prevents accidents. This is the facility’s stated guidance; parents should decide whether a shared bath is suitable for their child.
Food and the limited pickup option
The dining room serves handmade soba made with local buckwheat, rice-pot dishes and other meals using local ingredients. The dining page lists service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; meals can be eaten in the large room or a private room. Guests visiting for a meal only do not pay the bathing admission.
There is a pickup arrangement from Takumi-no-Sato, but it is limited to guests who will eat at Yushinkan. Request it by the previous day, and ask whether it can run on your date. It is not a regular shuttle for every bather.
Getting there from Takumi-no-Sato or the train stations
Driving is the straightforward option: the operator estimates 20 minutes from the Tsukiyono interchange, seven minutes from Takumi-no-Sato and ten minutes from Minakami Fruit Land Mogitore.
By rail, take a bus from Jōmō-Kōgen or Gōda Station to the Takumi-no-Sato stop, then continue by taxi for about seven minutes. The operator also lists a direct taxi from either station. Yushinkan is not beside a train station, so check both the bus and return journey before committing to a car-free visit.
