Junibo Onsen Yurara: Check Which Bath Area Is Open

Plan a visit to Junibo Onsen Yurara in Konan, Shiga, with admission, spring data, alternating bath areas, limited bedrock-sauna capacity and shuttle caveats.

Junibo Onsen Yurara is in Konan, Shiga. Adult admission is ¥800; adding the bedrock-sauna option brings the total to ¥1,500. The spring analysis lists a temperature of 28.2°C, a flow of 416 litres per minute and a mildly radioactive spring classification. Those are source figures, not the temperature of every bathing tub.

The bathing areas are called Shugen no Yu and Hyakuden no Yu, and they alternate between the men's and women's sides by date. Their layouts are not identical: the outdoor view and cold-bath setup can differ. Check the operator's schedule for the day you plan to visit instead of relying on a photo from one side.

Extras have their own limits

The bedrock-sauna room has only seven places and operates in three fixed sessions. It is a modest facility, not an all-day unlimited-access lounge. In summer, the indoor pool uses hot-spring water, but its calendar narrows later in the season; the September 2026 information listed weekend and holiday operation rather than daily swimming. Confirm both pool and sauna availability on the official calendar.

There is a free shuttle from JR Kosei Station on selected days, with six seats per trip. It is not a daily service, and a seat cannot be assumed without checking the current timetable. A separate trial route from Mikumo was also listed for September 2026. That information is date-specific and should not be carried over to a later month.

The facility announced a full maintenance closure on September 15, 2026. For a future visit, check for new maintenance dates and restaurant notices. Tattoo and child policies should also be checked directly with the facility, particularly if you are travelling as a group.

Yurara is a good fit when you want a real spring and a few different ways to spend a half-day. If you only want a quick soak, its extra facilities may not matter much. For other Shiga choices, see the day-use onsen guide.
