Early-Morning Onsen in Tamatsukuri: Yuyu or Tamatsukuri International Hotel?
Compare two Tamatsukuri morning baths by opening days, hours and price; Yuyu’s 6 a.m. session runs only on selected Sundays and holidays.

If you want to bathe before breakfast, the choice is mainly about calendar and location. Yuyu works well when you are staying in the Tamatsukuri riverside district and your date appears on its early-opening calendar. The lakefront Tamatsukuri International Hotel is the safer option for an ordinary weekday because it publishes a morning day-use window every day.

Yuyu: the cheaper option, but check the calendar
Yuyu’s morning opening is limited to Sundays, public holidays and selected holiday periods such as New Year, Golden Week and Obon. Mondays are normally closed, with the closure shifting when Monday is a holiday. Check the operator’s calendar before making an early start.
The early session is bathing only. Yuyu explicitly says its sauna is unavailable during morning hours, even though the sauna operates during normal opening. If a sauna is part of the point of getting up early, arrive during regular hours instead. Bring a towel or buy one there; shampoo and body wash are provided.
Tamatsukuri International Hotel: better for weekday mornings
The lakefront hotel is separate from the central Tamatsukuri district, and its open-air bath faces Lake Shinji. For an early start, check taxi availability or plan around where you are staying; local buses may not be running when you need them.

Morning and regular day-use sessions are separate windows. Missing the morning session does not allow entry at 9 am to wait inside until the afternoon opening; confirm the date’s schedule before setting out.
A practical pick
Choose Yuyu for a Sunday or holiday morning when you are already staying in the central onsen district and want the lower admission price. Choose the hotel when you need a weekday opening or specifically want the Lake Shinji view. For either bath, check its current opening notice before travelling; early hours leave little room to recover from a closed facility or a missed taxi.
