Yufuin Satoyamasafu: Private Onsen, Room Baths and Meals

Compare Satoyamasafu’s two private-use outdoor baths and room-specific spring tubs; check the dinner plan and shuttle for your dates.

Checked: September 27, 2026 Satoyamasafu is a good property to compare by room, not just by hotel name. Some rooms have a hot-spring bath of their own; others rely on the shared bath and two outdoor baths guests can use privately. If you only plan one or two soaks, the shared facilities may be enough. For an early-morning bath or a late return from dinner, the in-room option buys more control over timing.

Room bath or private-use bath?

The inn lists several styles, including Modern Suite, Junior Suite, Brooklyn Style, a Twin with an outdoor bath and a standard Twin. The precise layout varies, so use the named room description rather than assuming every suite has the same tub. Rooms with their own baths use the property’s spring water; guests in other categories can still use the common facilities.

There is a large and a small private-use outdoor bath. They are free for overnight guests, but private use is not the same as a guaranteed reservation at your preferred hour. If a bath inside the room is essential, select that room category explicitly. The second-floor Twin is adults-only; confirm age rules for the exact category if you are travelling with children.

Dinner plans need a little attention

Dinner is offered through different meal plans, with seasonal ingredients and local dishes. The last dinner start is 6:30 p.m., so an arrival after that needs to be discussed with the inn before booking a dinner-included rate. There are also room-only and breakfast plans for guests who prefer to eat elsewhere or expect a late arrival.

Satoyamasafu is outside the central walking area. Its shuttle now requires advance booking by 3 p.m. on the day before pickup; it is not something to assume will be available after arrival. Check the current access notice and arrange transport around your train time.
