Yokohama Day-Use Onsen: Four Baths, Four Different Plans

Compare Manten no Yu, SPA EAS, Tsunashima and Yuttari COco by station access, natural spring water, spa facilities and family-bath options.

Yokohama’s day-use hot springs are spread across the city, so “near Yokohama” can mean very different things. One is a five-minute walk from Yokohama Station; another is almost at a railway exit; the others take a bus, a shuttle or a 17-minute walk. Here’s the short version before you commit to a route.

Pick the bath that matches your day

SPA EAS is the easiest choice if you’re already around Yokohama Station: five minutes from the JR and private-rail west exit, or three minutes from municipal subway Exit 9. The full ticket includes towels and loungewear, plus the bath, sauna, lounges, terrace, dining and coworking areas.

Guests must be at least 16. Tattoos, body art, paint and tattoo stickers are not allowed. The weekday two-hour plan costs less but does not include the full facility.

Manten no Yu suits a short visit, an early-morning soak or a late stop after sightseeing. It is beside the south exit of Kami-Hoshikawa Station, about ten minutes from Yokohama by local train. Its outdoor baths use natural spring water, with tower and steam-sauna options; towels cost extra. The facility’s current notice lists October 20, 2026 as its next closure, so check again close to your visit.

Tsunashima stands out for its dark-brown sodium bicarbonate cold spring (pH 7.7; 240 litres per minute). Towel rental and loungewear are included.

The station walk takes 18 minutes from Tsunashima or 17 from Shin-Tsunashima. A free shuttle serves both, but seats only nine people; if full, take a local bus or walk.

Yuttari COco suits a family or group that needs a private bath. The standard weekend ticket is limited to five hours; children under three and anyone in diapers cannot use the public bath.

Book the family bath by phone up to a month ahead. Sessions last one hour, with admission charged separately for each guest. The facility is in Kohoku Minamo, near Center-Kita and Center-Minami stations, so it fits a north Yokohama itinerary better than a day centred on Yokohama Station or Minato Mirai.

Two practical checks before leaving

First, check the day’s entry rules if you’re travelling with children. SPA EAS does not admit anyone under 16. At the other three, the age and mixed-bathing rules differ; Manten no Yu also turns away under-18s after 11 pm. Yuttari COco’s family bath is the alternative for diaper-wearing children who cannot use its public bath.

Second, check the final leg home, not just the bath’s opening hours. SPA EAS is walkable from Yokohama Station and Manten is beside Kami-Hoshikawa Station. Tsunashima’s shuttle has limited seats, while Yuttari COco requires a subway ride if your day is centred elsewhere.
