Hanabeppu in Beppu: What the 2026 All-Inclusive Stay Covers
Check Hanabeppu’s 2026 all-inclusive plan—meals, drinks and lounge time—plus the extra-cost family bath. Its special-room tub is not confirmed as onsen water.
Hanabeppu reopened after a major renewal on March 6, 2026, with an all-inclusive style of stay. Meals, drinks and time in the new second-floor lounge are part of the appeal, alongside the public hot spring. The main question is whether you will be at the inn long enough to enjoy them. Arriving late, eating elsewhere and leaving early makes the package harder to justify.
As a date-specific reference, a booking search for two adults on November 18, 2026 showed an available one-night plan at about ¥51,900. That is not a fixed rate for a particular room or dinner; dates, availability and cancellation terms change the total.
The property has 30 rooms, about a six-minute walk from the west exit of JR Beppu Station. One detail worth keeping straight: the massage tub in the special rooms is not advertised as a private natural hot spring.
Lounge time is part of the stay
The lounge, Ippuku, is open from 3–9 pm and again from 7–10:30 am. The renewal page describes drinks and sweets, reading space and room for children to play. Dinner is served in the evening, followed by access to the baths; breakfast is a set menu with a Japanese or Western choice. The exact included items and timing can vary by plan, so check the offer attached to your dates.
Guests who arrive in the afternoon can settle into the lounge before dinner, bathe afterwards, then return for breakfast and a last coffee the next morning. If your itinerary leaves little time at the hotel, a simple room-only hotel near the station may be better value.
A private bath is an extra, not part of the all-inclusive promise
Hanabeppu’s private family bath, Egao, is booked separately. The published rate is ¥2,200 for a 50-minute session, with reservations available between 3 and 10 pm and the last session starting at 9 pm. That can be useful for families who would rather bathe together or guests who want more privacy, but it should be added to the room cost rather than assumed to be included.

Hanabeppu corrected its hot-spring description in July 2024. The indoor public baths and family bath use flowing spring water; the outdoor bath uses circulation filtration. Heating or adding water may be used depending on the spring temperature and flow. The water is listed as a sodium bicarbonate spring.
The women’s Otome bath has indoor and outdoor baths, a microbubble bath and mist sauna. The men’s Momotaro bath has indoor and outdoor baths. The baths do not switch sides, so the mist sauna is not available to everyone in the party.
Which room is enough?
Room categories differ in floor space and bathroom setup. The special rooms add a massage chair and view-facing massage tub, but the official description does not identify that tub as hot-spring water. The table compares sizes and layouts.

For most couples, the standard twin leaves the budget for the meals and lounge that define the stay. Families may find Hagoromo a more practical middle ground than the special room. Choose the latter for space and its furnishings, not for a private onsen.
Children and tattoo rules
The inn lists loan items for families, including a diaper bin, bed guard, child toilet seat and baby basket. Meal plans also include children’s meals, but booking sites can handle children’s ages and charges differently. Enter each child’s real age and confirm the meal and bedding arrangement before paying.
JR Kyushu Hotels’ published public-bath policy allows a guest with a tattoo to use the bath if each tattoo can be fully covered by no more than two complimentary 10 cm by 10 cm cover stickers. Tattoos that cannot be covered this way are not permitted in the public bath. If that policy is not workable, ask whether the paid family bath suits your situation.
Hanabeppu is six minutes on foot from Beppu Station’s west exit, near Beppu Park. It is not a waterfront hotel, and the official selling point is the station-side location rather than a Beppu Bay view.
