Honoka-no-yu Kaeda or Miyazaki Airport? Compare the Two Private Onsen Branches
Choose Honoka-no-yu Kaeda for the Aoshima coast or the airport branch around a flight; compare private-room baths, routes and room tiers.
Checked: September 27, 2026
The shared brand can make these branches sound interchangeable. They are not. Kaeda is a larger countryside facility with three room tiers; the airport branch is smaller, has one room type and sits near the terminal. If you are booking for a particular time, choose the branch by route first, then compare the room.
| Your trip | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Aoshima, Kibana or Nichinan Coast by car | Kaeda | Around 20 minutes by car from central Miyazaki, with 19 parking spaces |
| A bath after landing or before returning a rental car | Airport branch | About 500 metres from Miyazaki Airport; 15 parking spaces |
| Lowest room price | Kaeda Standard | ¥2,500 for 55 minutes on standard-price dates |
| Same room tier and booking length | Either | Semi Premium is ¥3,000 / ¥4,500 / ¥6,000 for 55 / 85 / 115 minutes before applicable surcharges |
| A larger wash/change space | Kaeda Premium | Wider changing/rest and washing areas, with a massage chair |
| A flight with little spare time | Neither | A reservation can still start late, and each slot ends five minutes before the printed duration |
The room menus are not the same
Kaeda offers Standard, Semi Premium and Premium rooms; the airport branch offers Semi Premium only. Both branches’ Semi Premium rooms have an indoor bath and an outdoor reclining bath. Kaeda Premium adds more space in the changing/rest and washing areas, while Standard is the lower-cost entry point.
| Room-rate detail | Current standard-price listing |
|---|---|
| Rooms | Kaeda: 14 across three tiers; airport branch: 7 Semi Premium rooms |
| Pricing basis | Per room; up to 5 guests included; each additional guest is ¥500 |
| Kaeda Standard | ¥2,500 for 55 minutes |
| Semi Premium, either branch | ¥3,000 / 55 min; ¥4,500 / 85 min; ¥6,000 / 115 min |
| High-season surcharge | Add ¥1,100 to the base room price |
| Weekend / public-holiday surcharge | Add ¥1,100 from October 1, 2026 |
| Published September 2026 high-season window | Through September 27 |
The posted tables do not show every surcharge combination. Ask the booking flow for the final total if the date falls in both high season and a weekend or public holiday; the operator has not stated how those additions combine.
Location decides most visits
Kaeda sits in the Sozenji area, roughly a 20-minute drive from central Miyazaki. It is a natural fit for a rental-car loop through Aoshima, Kibana or farther south; 19 spaces are available on site. Without a car, plan a taxi or check the return leg before booking—the facility is not a short walk from Aoshima Station.
The airport branch is listed by Miyazaki City Tourism as about 500 metres from Miyazaki Airport. It is convenient after arrival, before collecting a car, or on the return day if your schedule has enough slack. Its seven rooms make advance booking sensible for a specific time. Reservations have priority, but the operator warns that same-day circumstances can cause a wait past the booked start.
The two branches both advertise source-flow water, but their official pages name different springs: Kaeda is Sozenji Onsen, while the airport branch is Miyazaki Airport Onsen. The airport page does not publish the same spring classification details as Kaeda; do not transfer one branch’s analysis to the other.
Miyazaki City Tourism lists Kaeda as a private-bath option for tattooed visitors, but publishes no detailed eligibility conditions. The airport branch has no posted tattoo policy. Confirm with your chosen branch before paying; the Kaeda listing does not establish the airport branch’s rules.
