Nurukawa Onsen in Yufuin: A Kinrinko Day Bath with Private Options

A minute from Lake Kinrinko, Nurukawa has a ¥600 public bath and 60-minute private baths from ¥2,000 for two. Check opening hours and availability.

Checked: September 27, 2026 If Lake Kinrinko is already on your route, Nurukawa is an easy place to add a soak without crossing town for a large resort bath. The inn is about a minute from the lake and lists nine bathing facilities for day visitors. YUFUINFO says all nine use natural spring water supplied directly from the source.

Listed day-use rates and hours

YUFUINFO’s listing, with prices dated January 2026, gives the following rates. The guide also cautions that prices can change without notice, so check again before travelling.

BathListed price for twoSession
Public bath¥600 per adult; ¥300 for children of elementary-school age and youngerCheck the current day-use window
Private indoor family bath¥2,00060 minutes
Private open-air family bath¥2,60060 minutes

For either private bath, the listed base price covers two people. Each additional adult is ¥600 and each additional child is ¥300. The property’s official bath page lists simple hot spring water, while YUFUINFO describes it as weakly alkaline. There is no sauna listed, so this is a bathing stop rather than a full spa circuit.

The private bath is a choice of setting

The indoor family bath keeps the arrangement simple and sheltered. The open-air option costs ¥600 more for two people and changes the setting, not the spring quality. Both are listed as one-hour sessions. Because the public pages do not guarantee a particular time slot will be available when you arrive, contact the property if a private bath is essential to your plan.

Fitting it around a walk

YUFUINFO lists day-use hours as 8 a.m.–7 p.m., with Tuesdays and the second Wednesday of the month as closing days. It gives the station as roughly a 15-minute walk or a five-minute taxi ride away. The lake is the easier anchor: visit first, then bathe before heading back through town.

The same listing does not settle tattoo access. If that affects you, ask before arriving; having private-use baths does not automatically mean the tattoo policy is waived. For other types of visit, compare Yufuin’s day-use baths or the private-bath options for a day trip.
