Yujuku Taiyoukan Day Bath: Hours, Prices and Private Baths
Plan a Taiyoukan day bath in Yujuku Onsen, Minakami: current ¥700 admission, the 2 p.m. last entry, private-bath prices and bus access.
The ordinary bath is a short daytime stop
| Day-use detail | Taiyoukan’s operator listing |
|---|---|
| Standard bath | Second-floor indoor Taiyo-no-yu |
| Hours | 11 a.m.–3 p.m. |
| Last entry | 2 p.m. |
| Adult admission | ¥700, middle-school age and up |
| Child admission | ¥500, age four and up |
| Face towel / bath towel | ¥200 to buy / ¥200 to rent |
The tourism association lists a broader opening window, but Taiyoukan’s own bathing page gives the schedule above. Use the operator’s hours; call ahead if travelling a long way, as cleaning or crowding can affect day use.
That ¥700 visit does not include the inn’s outdoor baths. The tourism association also identifies the outdoor baths as overnight-guest facilities, so do not expect to use them on a standard day ticket.
After 3 p.m., the offer changes to private bathing
From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. (last entry 7 p.m.), Taiyoukan lists private-bath sessions only. Each session lasts 50 minutes:
- Third-floor open-air Hotei-no-yu or Kannon-no-yu: ¥3,300.
- Second-floor large-bath option: ¥3,300; smaller bath: ¥2,200.
- First-floor indoor Ebisu-no-yu: ¥2,200.
The inn does not take advance reservations for these day-use sessions. It asks visitors to contact the property on the day before coming, and overnight guests have priority during the private-bath period. A published price therefore does not guarantee a vacant slot. Ask which bath is available and whether children or your party size can be accommodated.
Getting there is unusually straightforward
From Jomo-Kogen Station, take a Kanetsu Kotsu bus towards Sarugakyo and get off at Yujuku Onsen-kami. Taiyoukan says the ride takes about 20 minutes and the stop is roughly a 10-second walk from the inn. From Gokan Station, the same bus route takes about 30 minutes. Check the current timetable for your travel date; these are route durations, not a promise of a convenient connection.
By car, the operator gives about 15 minutes from Tsukiyono IC or 20 minutes from Minakami IC. The address is 2384 Yujuku Onsen, Minakami, Gunma.
If you are comparing nearby options, Kanetaya’s day-bath guide covers a different small-inn setup, while the Minakami day-onsen guide puts Yujuku in the wider area context.
What the public information does—and does not—confirm
Taiyoukan and the Minakami Tourism Association describe the baths as natural hot-spring bathing, and the inn presents its baths as kakenagashi. The current public pages do not give a bath-by-bath breakdown of dilution, heating, filtration or disinfection, nor do they publish an individual source analysis. It would be a stretch to fill those gaps with figures from another Yujuku inn.
Taiyoukan offers private-bath access, but guests with tattoos should call the inn before booking to check its entry rules.
